Hillsboro Community Youth Choir 5th Anniversary Concert

Hillsboro Community Youth Choir 5th Anniversary Concert

Each season at the Hillsboro Community Youth Choir is an exciting adventure. Our singers work hard to develop their music skills. But a concert without an audience isn’t very much fun! That’s why we’re delighted to welcome you to any of our upcoming events.

May 17 Concert “Sahayta: A World United by Song”

Hillsboro Community Youth Choir is delighted to present a fabulous armchair “tour” of world music for their next delightful concert on May 17th.

In this concert, HCYC Artistic Director Cindy Uecker plans to introduce the audience to music from around the world.  Songs from Nigeria, Japan, Bolivia, Thailand, Romania, India, United States and the Chassidic tradition will express the celebration of community all around our world.  In many cultures, song traditionally has a close connection with dance, so many of these songs are dance-related, with lively rhythms and feelings of joy.  Our audience will experience first-hand why music is considered to be “the universal language” which binds all communities together, and they will be invited to participate in the program to add to the fun!

Ticket Information

Concert tickets are currently $8 per adult, $2 per youth (6-18) and free for children under 6.  Tickets may be purchased online in advance, or at the door on the day of the concert.
