Our
Mission
"The Hillsboro Community Youth Choir (HCYC) is a non-profit choir
committed to promoting excellence in choral music and is dedicated to enriching
the lives of youth by instilling a life-long love of music through performance
and education."
More
Details
The Hillsboro Community Youth Choir (HCYC) is a nonprofit auditioned
choir open to singers from elementary through high school. Our goal
is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate choral education
to fit the needs of both beginning and mature singers. We offer three
choral experiences based on age and ability. Our Premiere Choir is comprised of students
grades 5 through 8. Our Encore Choir is for students 9 to 12. Admission to either of these is based on interest, commitment,
and musical ability. Our newly expanded Prelude Choir - under the direction of Maurine Granat - is for kids in grades
K - 4 and
designed to provide basic choral instruction
and prepare members for the Premiere Choir.
Rehearsals
for the Premiere and Encore choirs are held Wednesday afternoons, September
through May, at Liberty High School, 21945 NW Wagon Way, north of Highway
26 at Cornelius Pass Road.
Premiere
and Encore choir tuition for the 2009-2010 season is $300. Since it
is the goal of the Board of Directors of the Hillsboro Community Youth
Choir (HCYC) to include all eligible singers, regardless of financial
means, financial assistance may be available.
Rehearsals
for the Prelude choirs I & II are held Wednesday afternoons, September through
May, at Lincoln Street Elementary School 801 N.E. Lincoln Street. Prelude
I tuition is $125. Prelude II tuition is $150.
